The 2015 Cross Country season kicked off with the middle school runners heading to Lake High School for the Lake Flyers Junior High Cross Country Invitational.  This was a rare event in that 7th and 8th graders ran in separate races, so we were not able to field a full team.  Nevertheless, Evergreen definitely made an impression!

Here are the results:

Last Name First Name Finish Place
Keller Kennedy 15:43 1 (24)
Peluso Maddy 16:59 3 (24)
Harzell Chris 17:24 15 (21)
Pennington Evan 15:31 8 (21)
Ruetz Chandler 16:01 29 (43)
Ruetz Shane 13:01 5 (43)
Schwan Ben 12:09 2 (43)

Kennedy set a new 7th Grade Girls record with her time of 15:43, and Ben set a new 8th Grade Boys and overall Middle School record with his time of 12:09.  All seven of our runners performed VERY well, especially those running in their first meet ever!

First Meets of the Season!

Here is some important information to know for our first cross country meets this week.  Please note, if a parent is at a meet and wishes to drive their athlete home after rather than sending them on the bus, they must sign the athlete out with one of the coaches.  It is expected that all athletes be at the meet, either competing or supporting others, until the last Evergreen runner has run for the day. If you need to leave sooner, please clear it with a coach prior to the day of the meet.

Notes – This is likely the only meet where 7th and 8th graders run separately. This course can also be a confusing one, especially for new runners, so we will be sure to spend time on the course prior to the races.
