2020 Evergreen XC Summer Camp is in the books! Although it was not our typical camp experience, a couple things didn’t change- our athletes put in the miles and hard work, and we conquered Hell’s Point. We welcome August as it is officially time to get ramped up for the beginning of the season. Please note: Per Governor Dewine and guidance from the OHSAA, all coaches/athletes are required to wear masks when on campus and not directly participating in their sport/training.
Final Forms: Athletes MUST have all their forms completed to practice. If you are in need of a physical, I was informed that Urgent Care provides them.
Here is the practice schedule from here on out:
Mon Aug 3 to Fri Aug 7 – 7:30 am @ EHS – Mandatory practice for high school (middle school optional but welcome)
Thursday, Aug 6: There will be an informational meeting for ALL cross country parents in the HS cafeteria @ 6 pm. Masks are required for all who attend this meeting and we will be practicing social distancing.
Saturday, Aug 8: Team pictures for all HS fall sports will take place on Saturday, August 8 @ 3 pm at Evergreen High School. Team pictures for MS will be a later date. Uniforms will be passed out at practice on Friday, August 7 and order forms can be found here 👉 EVERGREEN SCHOOL PIC FORM FALL 2020 Page 1 and EVERGREEN SCHOOL FALL FORM BACK 2020 Page 2
Week of Aug 10 – 7:30 am @ EHS – Mandatory practice (HS and MS)
We will likely have at least one or two offsite practices during the next couple weeks. Information will be sent out ahead of any such workouts.
Aug 17 & Aug 18 – 7:30 am @ EHS – Mandatory practice (HS and MS)
Aug 19- 1st Day of School – 3-4:30 pm @ EHS – Mandatory practice (HS and MS)
Once school starts, practices will be held after school- Mondays 3-5 pm and Tuesdays-Fridays 3-4:30 pm. Monday practices will be longer due to our weekly team meetings to discuss weekly goals and review Invitational performances. If transportation is a concern, please notify a coach as transportation can be arranged ahead of time. Except in emergencies or other circumstances beyond the athlete’s control, coaches should be notified of a missed practice at least one day in advance.
If you have any questions, please contact Coach Hesson on Remind (text @vikingxc to 81010) or email- firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re excited to get rolling on a great 2020 cross country season and look forward to seeing you in the coming weeks!
